The fallout for Plymouth fans was the 1,935 Superbirds built for the public. Plymouth found instant success in 1968 when they launched the gimmicky Road Runner muscle car. The automobile would break sales expectations, especially in 1969 when more than 81,000 copies were delivered. This '69 Road Runner has had the same owner for the past 50 years and has treated the car with kid gloves.

Jamie noted that the Superbird's headlamp system was a challenge. The rear bumper and restored trim were added, and the exterior decals followed. Next came firing up the engine, tuning it, getting the front end aligned, and inspecting and testing everything for proper operation. By late January 2020, the Superbird was road ready once again.
